CLIC conference and workshop | Raleigh, NC

What to say about the CLIC conference and workshop!!? The question is what isn’t there to say about it! I feel truly blessed to have met so many wonderful people and honored to have the opportunity to listen to all of the speakers that attended.
To start off, I have always loved Amanda Hedgepeths work, her honesty, and how she is willing to help anybody with an open heart no matter what! She is seriously one of the sweetest most genuine people I’ve ever met. She loves her business, but puts her family first! She spoke about balancing business and life and boy did I learn some valuable things from this! I have been photographing weddings now for almost 3 years and thought to get ahead you have to put your business first….. boy was I wrong! # 1 my awesome God will always come first, in my business, in my life, in my relationships, in everything. He has given me everything I could have ever dreamed of and I am here to serve HIM! #2 family comes next! Your family is what you have to go home to at the end of the day. The people who have your back, and I couldn’t imagine my life without my gracious and loving family (both my side and Rob’s). These people are here for you no matter what, never ever put your job/business before family.

I of course was a little star struck in the beginning but Amanda was so down to earth and she answered all of my questions. Ahhh Amanda is amazing and I mean who isn’t amazing when they have the sock bun down to a T!!? LOL

One of the other main reasons for attending was to meet and listen to Katelyn James! I have looked up to Katelyn for forever and love reading her blogs! She is an amazing photographer and a daughter of Christ like myself and is not afraid to share that with anyone. She believes in creating a community within her group of brides and I too think it is so important to build that relationship with each and every couple. Katelyn has made me look at my business in a whole new light and I am thrilled to go where I thought I could never go and actually be true to myself as who I am as a woman of God and as a successful business owner. Again I was very star struck when I saw her and when I started speaking with her she just had that personality of being truly genuine and supportive.

Meeting these two ladies was like meeting someone who has a man crush on Tom Cruise or girl crush on Sandra Bullock! These two have inspired me to become a better photographer and I cannot thank them enough for being themselves and being so very helpful in a world filled with greed and selfishness. I am happy to say I have met my role models!!!! 🙂 Sorry for the awful iphone photos!

And I cannot leave out Molly Stillman and Megan Huber! I actually found out over the weekend that the 3 of us attend the same church, New Hope and saw them both on Sunday! Molly is a wonderful blogger and I am in love with all of her posts! I learned that I do need to blog a bit more and I think already knew that but needed someone like her to tell me again! 🙂 “You are your business” Still Being Molly

The beautiful Megan Huber spoke about being a woman with passion, intention, money, and desires. I learned a lot from this awesome lady and she definitely helped me learn a little more about myself and what exactly I want from this life. “No matter how great the tool, if you don’t have the right mindset you will get nowhere” Megan Huber

I couldn’t finish this blog without sharing some awesome photos of some of the gals that I met at the conference. Everyone was so super nice and it was a breath of fresh air to have girls to talk to who are in the same profession and to learn from each other! We got divided up into groups and these two cuties were with me! We had a blast and I cannot wait to do headshots for these two! I definitely made a lot of friendships and am truly blessed to have others that I trust in this business!! 2014-03-24_0005

I learned so much from Amanda at the workshop and am excited to share a couple of photos. Thank you again for being so awesome!! 5V2A3898-2
